This is a blog to talk about things research, data and government related. I am Business Intelligence Manager at Bath and North East Somerset Council; a friend of the Bath:Hacked open data community and can be found socially at @jonpoole . It is written in an entirely personal capacity and does not represent the views of my employers. This site grew out of and will in part attempt to document an unsuccessful attempt to spin-out the team and some of the functions between March and December 2015.
The concept ‘Intelligent Places’ was at the heart of this spin out idea and even though it looks unlikely we’ll proceed with it as a proposal that vision sits at the heart of what we’re trying to achieve locally, but at its heart is the concept that effective local collaboration between communities, government, business and academia can create a more intelligent place..
